Our focus is on providing an enriching "first dance" experience, building a solid base of dance fundamentals, and an introduction to creative choreography for those wishing to continue in dance. All of our classes are developmentally appropriate, and only age-appropriate music, including classical and children's, is used.

The Music Academy operates on three 16-week semesters (spring, fall, and summer). Private lessons are offered in piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, classical and Suzuki Method violin, viola, cello, folk, classical, and jazz guitar, voice, voice therapy, composition, and jazz. Group lessons are available in a limited number of the studios. Workshops are given throughout the semester by the resident faculty on various areas of music.

A Music Together class is a community of families sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants, and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting.  Music is learned through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect the unique learning styles of very young children.  Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers participating at their own levels in family-style classes of mixed ages.  Music Together offers morning and evening classes, 10 week sessions, at two different State College locations: Oakwood Presbyterian Church, out near Lowe's, and Pine Hall Lutheran Church, 1760 W. College Ave., across from Rider Auto.  Free classes are offered all through the year.
